Miss Maria Maureen Nabuule, Central Region Queen for Climate Awareness, visited Skilpack Ltd to explore their innovative approach to sustainable beauty. She was particularly impressed by their banana fibre hair — a biodegradable alternative to synthetic braids made from locally sourced banana stems.
During her visit, Miss Nabuule observed the production process and engaged with the team behind the product. She praised the initiative for offering an eco-friendly solution to the growing plastic waste problem in the beauty industry.
"This is the kind of innovation that blends cultural identity with climate responsibility," she noted.
The visit concluded with a showcase of finished banana fibre hairstyles and a brief discussion on expanding awareness around sustainable hair alternatives in Uganda.
